Accessibility
Our commitment to making HawkHOA usable by everyone
Commitment
HawkHOA is actively working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. This page describes the features in place today, the gaps we know about, and how to report a barrier so we can fix it.
We have not completed a formal third-party audit, and we do not claim full WCAG 2.2 AA conformance at this time. Accessibility is an ongoing process, and we publish this statement so homeowners and boards know what to expect and what to do if something is not working for them.
Features in place today
- Keyboard navigation. Interactive elements are reachable via Tab with a visible focus indicator.
- Screen reader support. Semantic HTML, ARIA labels, and a live region for streaming chat responses.
- Color contrast. Body and large text are designed against WCAG AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 body, 3:1 large).
- Resizable text. The interface is designed to scale up to 200% zoom.
- Reduced motion. Animations respect the operating-system prefers-reduced-motion setting.
- Skip links. A skip-to-main-content link is available at the top of every page.
- Touch targets. Mobile interactive elements aim for at least 44×44 CSS pixels.
Known limitations
- HawkHOA is in private preview. No independent accessibility audit has been completed, and automated checks have not yet been run against every route. Individual pages may contain barriers we have not yet identified.
- PDF viewer integration is planned for a later phase, citations currently link to document metadata rather than opening the PDF inline, which can be a barrier for some assistive technologies.
- A formal VPAT (Voluntary Product Accessibility Template) is not yet available.
Reporting accessibility issues
If you encounter an accessibility barrier while using HawkHOA, please let us know so we can investigate and fix it. Contact:
accessibility@hoastream.com (monitored by JeLe Ventures LLC, the operator of HOAStream and the HawkHOA community product).
Useful information to include in your report:
- The page or feature where you had trouble
- What you were trying to do
- The assistive technology and version, if any
- The browser and version, and the device you were using
We aim to respond to accessibility reports within five business days and to work with you on a reasonable alternative while any identified barrier is being remediated.
